WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University's men's swimming & diving team opens their 2026-2027 campaigns on the road this weekend with a tri-meet in New Haven, Conn., against Southern Connecticut State and University of Bridgeport. The meet gets underway at 12 p.m. inside the Hutchinson Natatorium.
- West Chester brings a solid men's squad into the new season. This year's roster may not have the standout distance swimmer like Paul Demesy was the last four years. Sophomore Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) may be the heir apparent. The PSAC champion in the 200 and 500 free also bolsters the relays. Senior Danny Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) finished third at PSACs in the 500, 1000 and 1650 a year ago. He was also fourth in the 200 free. Junior Till Schroeder (Wiesbaden, Germany) returns to the sprints as a two-time conference champion in the 50 free and the 100 free.
- The Golden Rams men should have a little more depth and a little more talent in the specialty events. Senior Ryan Lee (Camp Hill, Pa./Camp Hill) returns as PSAC champion in the 200 breaststroke. Sophomore Bart Brzozowski (Warsaw, Poland) helped a pair of medley relays to a conference title. He was also fourth in the 200 backstroke. Kai Boyer (Reading, Pa./Wilson) is a new face to keep an eye on in the butterfly. He put up some impressive times on the high school level.
- Timothy Daley (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) is a newcomer to the men's diving team. He joins a veteran group of divers who should only get better this winter.
- In short, West Chester should field a very strong and deep men's team.
