SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Rita Alton and Sarah Oswald each scored a goal as ninth-ranked West Chester University downed host Shippensburg, 2-1, in a PSAC East women’s soccer showdown Wednesday evening.
West Chester (8-0-1, 6-0-0 PSAC East) maintained its stranglehold on first place in the division with the win over Shippensburg (8-4, 3-3).
Brittany Yetter and Samantha Paolino each picked up an assist in the contest as well. Oswald scored her team-high sixth goal of the year.
Goalkeeper Hilary Smart made four saves on the night to remain unbeaten in 2008. She has allowed just four goals in West Chester’s nine contests.
