WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The West Chester women's vollyball team opened the regular season in grand fashion today by sweeping Wilmington, 3-0.
The Golden Rams won three consecutive sets, dominating the court, 25-20, 25-16, 25-15. The Rams' offense was led by 2007 rookie of the year Michelle Powers with 11 kills. Sophomore Kayla Beck and senior outside hitter Megan Musselman each added nine kills during the match.
Freshman Lisa Campbell set the defensive pace with 15 digs. Beck added 14 digs as well. Senior Lisa Yeasted recorded 14 digs and amassed 36 assists. She is ranked fourth all-time at West Chester in assists entering the Wilmington Tournament with 2,445.
West Chester is slated to face Le Moyne in their second game at the Wilmington Tournament this afternoon at 3 pm.
