WEST CHESTER, Pa.
 – D’Andre Webb ran for a career-high 306 yards and four touchdowns to lead host West Chester to a 41-10 win over visiting Millersville in the PSAC East opener for both schools.

Webb’s 306 yards broke the school’s single-game record, marked the first time that a West Chester player eclipsed 300 yards rushing in a game and is the best performance in all of Division II this season.

Webb scored three times in the first half on runs of 8, 33 and 2 yards to spark the Golden Rams to a 21-0 lead before the Marauders could get on the board. The sophomore tailback set up his 2-yard TD run with a 70-yard jaunt down the near sideline, putting the ball inside Millersville’s 10-yard line.

He later added an 87-yard trip down the far sideline to paydirt that broke the school record and put him over 300 yards rushing on the day. West Chester rang up 453 yards on the ground and 633 yards of total offense altogether on the day.

Joe Wright attempted just 11 passes on the day, completing seven for 146 yards and a 10-yard touchdown to Mike Washington in the corner of the end zone. Washington finished with just 30 yards receiving on two catches because of the Rams’ proficiency on the ground Saturday night.

Washington now has 47 career TD receptions, leaving him one shy of the school record. Wright also scored on a nifty 25-yard run with 9:42 to play in the third quarter, marking the fifth-year junior’s first career rushing touchdown.

West Chester held a 41-3 advantage late in the contest when Millersville finally scored on an 80-yard pass from Bill Shirk to Jamal Smith. That score ended a drought of 112 minutes without a TD for the Marauders that covered more than seven consecutive quarters.

Jackson Fagan came on in the fourth quarter to relieve Webb from his running duties and gained 81 yards on eight carries. Starting tailback Lee Hopkins injured himself on the first play from scrimmage and did not return. He did not have a carry in the contest.

Miller finished with 88 yards receiving on three catches for the Golden Rams. Smith caught six passes for a career-high 131 yards for Millersville.

West Chester travels to Kutztown next Saturday for another PSAC East clash with the Golden Bears.
