Myrtle Beach, S.C. - West Chester University topped Felician College, 10-2, in its first contest at the Ripken Experience Friday afternoon.
West Chester (3-2) rode the arm of freshman Fred Breidenbach (2-0) to the win. Breidenbach allowed three hits and one earned run in five innings of work. He walked two and struck out four. Joe Opalka threw three shutout innings, allowing one hit, and Jared Lehman finished up with one strikeout in one inning of work.
Senior shortstop Nick Spisak was the star at the plate, going 5-for-6 with three RBI. Kyle Orensky went 2-for-3 with three RBI as well.
West Chester takes on Philadelphia University Friday night.
