PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – West Chester University dominated LaSalle University, 32-5, in a non-league women’s rugby contest Saturday night.
Brianne Feinour kicked off the match with a try four minutes in, followed by Megan Lamm making good on the conversion to give the Golden Rams a 7-0 lead. West Chester was given another chance to put points on the board with a penalty kick that Lamm converted.
The last play before the half ended, Lamm converted another penalty kick putting the visitors on top at 13-0 heading into the locker room.
Britt Miller scored on a breakaway early in the second half, giving West Chester an insurmountable, 20-0 lead after Lamm’s conversion. Anna McGlade was the next to score for West Chester with a good conversion by Lamm.
Cheryl Johnson made a break for the try line, giving the Golden Rams their final points of the match.
LaSalle finally put points on the board with a try at the very end of the contest.
Women’s Rugby will be back in action next Saturday home at 11 a.m. against Penn State.
