WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Shepherd’s Kevin Doyle scored the game’s lone goal of the game during a scramble in front in the 61st minute to lift visiting Shepherd to a 1-0 win over host West Chester Saturday afternoon at South Campus Complex.
West Chester (2-5-2) seemed to control the tempo and pressure Shepherd (4-5-1) for much of the second half. However, the Rams from West Virginia came up with the lucky bounce to top their Ram friends from the Keystone State.
West Chester held an 8-5 advantage in shots and 8-2 measure in corner kicks. However, the Golden Rams could not finish, which is something that has plagued the home team much of all season.
Garrett Bleiler (1-1-1) was credited with one save on the afternoon while Edgar Lopez Zuniga (3-5-1) made three stops to earn the shutout.
West Chester travels to University of District of Columbia Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. for its next match.
