PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) released its men's soccer Academic All-Area team on Tuesday morning, and
Ian Alicea (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland) added another honor to his growing postseason list with an Academic All-Area citation.
This is the latest postseason honor for Alicea, who was also named First Team All-PSAC East, D2CCA All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District after an excellent 2025 season. Alicea is the lone Division II player honored on the Academic All-Area squad.
The junior defender, who was also a captain for West Chester in 2025, turned in an excellent junior season with three goals for six points, while continuing to anchor the Golden Ram backline. A force defensively and a strong voice in the back, Alicea helped direct traffic throughout the season and helped limit opponents to 1.22 goals per game and 12.5 shots per game, with less than half of those shots finding their way on target during the regular season.
Johnny Troiani, the NJAC Offensive Player of the Year for the Second Year in a row after scoring a career-high 19 goals and posting 43 points, earned Performer of the Year honors.
