West Chester Men Down Felician, 3-0

Box Score Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- Conor Malarney scored twice and Kevin McCann added another as West Chester downed visiting Felician College, 3-1, Monday night on Senior Night at John A. Farrell Stadium.

West Chester (7-7-2) evened its record on the season with the win, marking the first time since 2008 that the Golden Rams have been at .500 or better this late in the season.

McCann, the reigning PSAC athlete of the week, got things started in the seventh minute when he knocked in a rebound off a header from teammate Jake Maxwell that Felician's goalkeeper Daniel Wroblewski got a hand on by making a diving save. The ball landed right on McCann's foot, and the junior hammered home his team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Malarney notched the first of his two goals 10 minutes later when he gathered in a long ball from Peter Mais on the far sideline and came across the goal at about the 18-yard line and ripped a shot that made it inside the far post past a diving Wroblewski.

Four minutes later, Malarney took advantage of a mishandled ball in the area by Wroblewski and tapped a shot in an open net from eight yards out. That was all the scoring West Chester would need on the night.

The Golden Rams did not allow a shot in the first half and held an 18-3 advantage for the game. Garrett Bleiler (7-5-2) started and picked up the win, playing 20 minutes and exiting with the lead. Fellow senior Kevin Marron finished up the last 70 minutes. Bleiler did not see a shot in his 20 minutes of play. Marron registered one save.

With the win, Bleiler evened his career won-loss record in goal at 14-14-4.

West Chester concludes its regular season on Saturday at Millersville.
