WEST CHESTER, Pa.
- West Chester dropped the first set, but rallied to take the next three in succession and claim a 3-1 PSAC women's volleyball victory over visiting Kutztown inside Hollinger Field House Friday evening.

West Chester (16-15, 6-10 PSAC) improved its playoff picture with the win, keeping pace with Millersville while moving two games up on East Stroudsburg in the PSAC Eastern Division standings with the 17-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 victory. Kutztown (11-18, 3-13) saw its playoff hopes dwindle.

The Golden Rams came out flat in the opening set. West Chester fell behind, 9-0, and lost sophomore middle hitter Cara Reese to an injury. The Rams trailed by at least 10 points for much of the match, before making a run and pulling to within 21-15 late. Kutztown regrouped to take a 25-17 win. However, WCU setter Mary Faust went down on the final point of the set and did not return either.

West Chester overcame the adversity and looked like a completely different team the rest of the match.

Lexi Kegerise finished with 15 kills and 15 digs while Julia O'Brien and Allison Grammer each added 13 kills. Tori Hutchinson registered 27 assists, and Mandy Flynn had 20. Morgan Litak finished with a team-high 17 digs. Kelly Martin had five blocks.

West Chester travels to Cheyney on Saturday for another PSAC match at 1 p.m.
