Box Score 2 MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Lexi Kegerisepicked up her 1,000th career kill, but West Chester University fell short, 3-1 against Dowling, in another nail-biting volleyball match the second day of the Marauder Clash hosted by Millersville University Saturday afternoon.
West Chester (1-3) dropped another disappointing five-set match to Wilmington (Del.) in the second game Saturday by scores of 25-23, 19-25, 21-25, 25-18 and 12-15.
Kegerise registered nine kills and posted a team-high 11 digs. However, Dowling logged a 19-25, 25-19, 27-29 and 22-25 win in the opener. Morgan Litak notched 10 digs while Kelly Martin knocked down 10 kills. Allison Grammar and Marina Sharkey each had nine kills apiece. Sharkey added two solo blocks.
Mary Faust recorded 21 assists while Mandy Flynn notched 18 assists.
Flynn added another 20 assists in the nightcap against Wilmington while contributing eight digs. Faust had 14 assists as well.
Martin posted 14 kills to pace the Golden Rams while Cara Reese had nine kills while Kegerise registered another 11 kills and Julia O’Brien had 10.
The Golden Rams travel to Chestnut Hill on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
