Men's Soccer Falls To Wheeling Jesuit, 2-0

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -
The West Chester University men’s soccer team opened up their home slate Saturday with a 2-0 loss to Wheeling Jesuit University.
 
The Golden Rams (0-2) were able to weather an early storm after two quick goals by the Cardinals in the first half but were unable to find the net during the game.
 
Wheeling Jesuit opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a fast-break goal by Nicolay Netskar, who was fed a pass from Carlos Avila for the assist. Eight minutes later, Netskar found the back of the net again with an easy goal assisted by Luke Roan.
 
West Chester pulled it together in the second half with more scoring chances led by Conor Malarney and Jake Maxwell, yet was unable to find the back of the net. The second half also saw an increase in physical play from both sides, and the game ended with several near chances by West Chester to even the score.
 
The Golden Rams seek their first victory this Thursday at home against visiting Holy Family. Game time is set at 4:30 p.m.
