2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men's All-Atlantic Region teams
KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Conor Malarney and Dan Venuto have been named to the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Men's All-Atlantic Region teams, announced by that organization on Thursday.
Sr. F, Conor Malarney was selected to the first team, his third such recognition of fall. He was also named first team All-PSAC and Daktronics All-Atlantic Region in 2013,
Malarney scored 11 goals to tie for the team lead and topped the Golden Rams with 24 points. He finished in a tie for the league lead in PSAC goals with nine conference markers and led the league with five game-winning goals.
The West Chester native closed out his career tied for second place in school history with John Hand (70-72) with 24 career goals. He is fourth all-time at West Chester with 58 career points.
Jr. D, Dan Venuto was a second team selection, He earned his first all-conference accolades and was named defensive athlete of the year in the PSAC, and to the first team Daktronics All-Atlantic Region.
The anchor of the West Chester defense that allowed only five league goals in 2013, the 6-2 junior is excellent in the air and is a physical defender. In addition to Venuto's top-notch defense this year, he scored the game-winning goal against Lock Haven in mid-September and assisted a goal against Philadelphia University.
West Chester ended the season with a 13-4-2 record; its most victories since 2006.
