WEST CHESTER, Pa. - West Chester started the season off with a try 9 minutes in by
Nicole Benedetti. The Golden Rams then starved Kutztown of any possession and played much of the first half in the Bears' half of the field, and led 27-3 at the half, en route to a 46-13 season opening victory Saturday afternoon in West Chester.
West Chester (1-0), exploded for 4 scores in 15 minutes with trys by
Anna Bocchino, Jackie Sacco, Shelby Kimport, before Benedetti adde another rat the 27 minute mark of the first half. Kutztown (0-1) scored two trys to bring the game to 34-13.
"We have a few players, so it took us awhile to start to gel as a team today." Coach Anthony Deremer said. However, when we started to run the ball hard and go forward, the confidence built, he younger players really stepped up and became a team today.
West Chester tacked on the final two trys to make it 46-13.
The Golden Rams are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Temple for a 12 PM kickoff. They return home on the 28
th to face Navy at 11 AM.
