MERCYHURST, Pa. – West Chester was unable to find the right formula Saturday, losing 3-0 to both Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst at the PSAC crossover in Mercyhurst.
The Golden Rams (8-4, 0-4 PSAC) lost all four games on the trip west.
In the afternoon,
Paige Thommes led the West Chester offense with eight kills,
Samantha Agostini added seven, and
Tori Hutchinson had 14 assists, in a three set loss (25-18, 25-18, and 25-22) to Slippery Rock.
Callie Krajcir had 19 digs on defense.
The nightcap against host Mercyhurst ended with a similar result, the Golden Rams were unable to convert a 23-20 lead in the third set and fell 25-10, 25-20, and 29-27.
Julia O'Brien led the way with 11 kills,
Mandy Flynn had 13 assists, and Krajcir came up with 20 digs in the match.
West Chester returns home Tuesday night Oct. 1 for a non-league contest at 7 PM with Georgian Court.
