West Chester Scores Win Over Clarion

WEST CHESTER, Pa. –  Jr., G Dallas Ely (Montrose, Pa./Montrose) scored a team-high 21 points, 14 in the first half, to lead homestanding West Chester University over Clarion University, 91-68, inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.

West Chester (9-1, 6-1 PSAC) landed all five starters in double figures as the Golden Rams posted their second highest output of the season over Clarion (1-9, 0-6).

The Golden Rams started out the game on fire, shooting 53 percent from the field heading into halftime up, 54-29. The Golden Eagles did not have an answer as the Golden Rams dribbled their way into the paint for 52 of their 91 points in the game.

Ely scored went 8-for-12 from the field and added five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Jasmen Clarke (Temple, Pa./Oley Valley) finished second in scoring with a season-high 17 points, shooting 50-percent from the field, to go with six assists and two steals. Her 17 tied a career-high set last year at home against Kutztown.

Chikisha Steele-Hook (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Twp.) added 14 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Brittany Sicinski (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) contributed 13 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in high scoring affair.

Anna Kuntz (Camp Hill, Pa./Trinity) rounded out the double-figure scoring with 10 points and fell one rebound short of a double-double with nine.
The Golden Rams' 91 points is their second highest scoring total of the season, behind only a season-opening win over Concordia (NY) in which WCU eclipsed the century mark with 102 points.

Golden Eagles' Taina Holmes shot 8-for-15 to lead all scorers with 22 points. Cara Cook scored in double-figures as well with 11 points off the bench.

West Chester will get a couple weeks to prepare for two straight PSAC conference games to begin the New Year against Pitt-Johnstown on Jan. 3 and nationally ranked Indiana (Pa.) on Jan. 4, both inside Hollinger Field House.
