Box Score WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester's volleyball (9-6, 1-5 PSAC) squad got back on track by defeating Shippensburg University, 3-1, in Hollinger Field House on Saturday for their first PSAC victory.
Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) continues her stellar play with 18 kills as well as three digs and two blocks.
Julia O'Brien (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) registered 12 kills, four digs, and four blocks in the Golden Ram victory.
West Chester dropped the first set 25-19, and then the Golden Rams responded by winning three straight sets by a score of 25-23, 25-17, and 25-18.
Callie Krajcir (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) produced 22 digs, while her teammate
Bethany Gould (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) contributed 11 digs.
Freshman Annalee Halbert (Port Murray, N.J. / West Morris Central) recorded 42 assists and 9 digs for West Chester.
Overall, the Golden Rams posted a .229 hitting percentage in addition to eight team blocks.
West Chester returns to action on Tuesday, September 30th as Cheyney University comes to Hollinger Field House for a matchup at 7:00 p.m.
