Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sr.,
Molly Grammer (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) registered a season-high 23 kills, but it was not enough as West Chester fell to Shippensburg in four sets by scores of 25-23, 17-25, 25-19, and 25-19 inside Hollinger Field House Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (23-8, 11-9 PSAC) loss the first set by two, but came back to tie it up at one set apiece in the early going. Shippensburg (25-8, 14-6 PSAC) would come back to win two-straight sets to take the win and remain in second place in the PSAC East, while the Golden Rams sit in fourth with two games to go in the regular season.
Freshman
Jillian Grammer (Center Valley, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) registered her third double-double of the season, recording 46 assists and 11 digs, to go with three kills.
Allie Duffy (Carlisle, Pa. / Carlisle) finished second in kills for West Chester with 11, while
Marina Sharkey (Newtown Square, Pa. / Archbishop John Carroll) had nine.
Nicky Yates (Coopersburg, Pa. / Southern Lehigh) led the team in digs, saving 34 shots and served for two aces on the day.
Shippensburg had three players with double-digit kills and two players registering double-doubles to outlast WCU in the victory.
West Chester will be back at home on Friday Nov. 13th against conference leader Pitt-Johnstown at 7 p.m. before concluding the regular season the following day against Lock Haven at 1 p.m.
