GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Golden Rams captured a 6-3 victory over PSAC opponent Seton Hill in a dual match Saturday afternoon.
In doubles, the duo of
Claire Uhle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) and
Maddy Shaak (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) defeated Seton Hill's pair by a score of 8-4.
West Chester's
Rylee Power (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) and
Gracyn Towler (West Chester, Pa. / Unionville) prevailed as well, winning 8-6 over the Griffin's Bailey and DeBone.
Despite a valiant effort,
Sophie Rathmell (Lancaster, Pa./McCaskey) and
Alyssa Rees (Morgantown, W.Va./University) dropped a tough one 8-5.
The Golden Rams lead 2-1 heading into the single matches in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Uhle dropped a tough in singles, falling to Seton Hill's Carvajalino. Meanwhile, Shaak edged out Seton Hill's Bailey for a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Next for the Golden Rams was Power, who captured a win 7-5, 6-3 over her opponent.
Senior
Abriana Nolan (Honesdale, Pa. / Honesdale) fell to Seton Hill's DeBone 6-4, 6-3.
However, Rathmell's 6-4, 6-1 victory sealed the match for the Golden Rams.
Tacking on an additional win by a score of 6-1, 6-2 was senior
Stephanie Cifarelli (Royersford, Pa./ Spring-Ford).
The victory against Seton Hill concludes the 2016 fall season for women's tennis.
