West Chester Shuts Out Millersville, 52-0

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Four different quarterbacks threw for 405 yards and a pair of touchdowns as host West Chester downed visiting Millersville, 52-0, on Senior Day at John A. Farrell Stadium Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (7-3, 6-1 PSAC) rolled up 577 yards of total offense in the win over Millersville (1-9, 1-6) and finishes second in the PSAC Eastern Division standings behind Kutztown, which went a perfect 7-0 in league play this fall.
 
Jr., QB Andrew Derr (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin) went 12-for-22 for 276 yards and a pair of TD passes without throwing an interception. Jr., RB Jarel Elder (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) rushed for 89 yards and scored three times on the ground in the win as well.
 
Nydair Rouse (Philadelphia, Pa./Simon Gratz) returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown, marking his third pick-six on the season. His INT return for a TD came with no time remaining in the first half and sent the Golden Rams into the locker room with a 24-0 lead.

West Chester had kicked a 27-yard field goal with :42 seconds left to take a 17-0 advantage. Millersville drove to near midfield before Rouse picked off his pass and put six more points on the board in the Golden Rams' favor.

West Chester's offense engineered two touchdown drives of 95 yards or longer.

The Golden Rams wrap up the 2016 campaign next Saturday at Clarion. Kickoff is set for 12 pm.

NOTES: West Chester improved its personal winning streak against Millersville to 14 straight with the win ... head coach Bill Zwaan is a perfect 14-0 against the Marauders ... the win also marked the first shutout over Millersville since 1970 ... West Chester's 577 yards of total offense is the second-best effort this fall ... Saturday marked the first time all year that the Golden Rams lost the time of possession battle.
