LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - For the third week in a row, West Chester University junior
Maddy Shaak (Myerstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon County) was named the PSAC East athlete of the week it was announced earlier Monday afternoon.
Shaak upped her singles winning streak to eight straight and her doubles winning streak with partner Claire Uhle (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) to 11 straight by winning a pair of matches at each and post a perfect 4-0 week for West Chester. Shaak and Uhle teamed up at first doubles for a pair of 8-1 wins, including a victory over PSAC West power Mercyhurst. Shaak also defeated Adrianna Jeffress of Mercyhurst at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-2. Both of Shaak's wins came at second singles during the week.
West Chester takes on Cheyney and Millersville this week to close out the conference slate.
