Women’s Soccer Prevails, 2-1 OT

Shippensburg, Pa. - An inadvertent move by the Red Raider defense resulted in an own-goal to give visiting West Chester University a 2-1 overtime victory over Shippensburg.
 
The goal came just 57 seconds into the first overtime in a game played on David See Field.
 
The Golden Rams remain undefeated (8-0, 8-0 PSAC), while Shippensburg University dropped to (5-4, 3-4 PSAC).
 
The game remained scoreless until 66:03, when senior Lexi Brown (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury) drilled a shot into the upper left corner of the net from outside the box. 
 
Sophomore defender Carmen Telesco (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks West) assisted on the goal.  It was Brown's third tally of the year.
 
The Raiders' Ashley Weaver knotted the score up in the 88th minute with the assisted credited to Casey Rightmyer.
 
Goalkeeper Alex Srolis (Chester Springs, Pa. /Downingtown East) made four saves in gaining the win in the nets for West Chester. Leah Roy stopped 7 shots for the Raiders.
 
The Golden Rams held a 21-11 advantage in shots and prevailed 9-3 in corner kicks.
 
West Chester will host Millersville University on Tuesday, September 27th inside Rockwell Field at 1:30 p.m.
