WEST CHESTER, Pa. – West Chester University's basketball teams are set to host its seventh annual "Play4Kay" game inside Hollinger Field House on Saturday, February 11th at 11:00 a.m.
There will be a doubleheader against PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg as well, beginning with the women's game at 1:00 p.m.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is a charitable organization, which established in December of 2007. The organization is now in its ninth year, raising funds to support women's cancer research.
"This game is in memory and honor of Kay Yow, who was the coach at North Carolina State," stated women's head coach Kiera Wooden. "We are playing for a good cause. This is such a great opportunity for everyone in the community to come together."
Both teams will be wearing t-shirts in honor of coach Yow and raising money in support of the fight against breast cancer. Money is raised through the sale of games, raffles, t-shirts, face painting, food, and much more.
In 2012, West Chester University raised the most money of any Division II school in the country, bringing in nearly $7,000 during its "Play4Kay" game that February.
The "Play4Kay" initiative has been a success, bringing the community together for a great cause. The fundraiser incorporates multiple organizations, teams, and members of the community.
After the games, join the teams for a social at Barnaby's from 5-8 p.m. There will be a $25 dollar admission that includes buffet dinner and drinks.
