EMMITSBURG, Md. - The 2019 West Chester University women's rugby team pulled out a 15-14 victory against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers on Sunday.
Autumn Czaplicki (Pillow, PA / Line Mountain High School) led the way for the Golden Rams, scoring two of the team's three tries.

How it happened:
- West Chester jumped out to an early lead as Czaplicki scored her first try in the sixth minute of action.
- Czaplicki tallied her second try in the 23rd minute to increase West Chester's lead to 10-0.
- The Mountaineers were quick to respond, scoring a try with a successful conversion five minutes later, cutting West Chester's lead to 10-7. The score would remain 10-7 for the duration of the first half.
- The Golden Rams took control early into the second half as Haley Spangler (Gettysburg, Pa. / Gettysburg) scored a try three minutes into the second half, giving West Chester a 15-7 lead.
- Mount St. Mary's scored a try in the 59th minute. The Mount were successful on the conversion, coming within one point of West Chester at 15-14.
- The Golden Rams and Mountaineers would battle it out for the final 20 minutes, but neither team could make it across the try line.

- Czaplicki and Lauren Madalian (Randolph, N.J. / Randolph High School) are now tied for the team lead in tries with five each.
- The Golden Rams are 4-0 in National Intercollegiate Rugby Association play. They have outscored their opponents 118-45 in those matches.
