MOHNTON, Pa. – Sophomore
Bridget Pyott (WAYNE, PA./ACADEMY OF NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR) carded a tournament-low 36 over the final nine holes to claim third, as the West Chester University women's golf team won the 2019 Alvernia Invitational by a convincing 21 strokes at the LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday.
Tuesday's tournament win marks the sixth straight victory for the Golden Rams this season, as WCU has come out on top of every tournament it has entered since September 30.
Pyott, WCU's highest finisher on Tuesday, carded an 80 (+7) to claim third in the 47-person field, while
Dominique Marchese (MEDIA, PA./MERION MERCY ACADEMY) and
Meghan O'Mara (SAYVILLE, N.Y./SAYVILLE) both tallied an 83 (+10) to finish in a four-way tie for fourth.
Juliarose Genuardi (HARLEYSVILLE, PA./NORTH PENN) and
Angela Masseria (STATEN ISLAND, N.Y./TOTTENVILLE) rounded out WCU's top-5 by tying for eighth after carding an 85 (+12).
Performing as individuals,
Emily Centofante (VALLEY FORGE, PA./CONESTOGA) tied for 28th with a 98 (+25) and Alex Lowder
(WRIGHTSVILLE, PA./EASTERN YORK) tallied a 114 (+41) to end the day tied for 37th place.
Alvernia's Emily Gilbert claimed the individual title on Tuesday with a 76 (+3) and Millersville's Hannah Yanoski left Mohnton in second after carding a 79 (+6) on the day.
