WEST CHESTER, Pa.- West Chester junior goalkeeper,
Daniel Good (Exton, Pa./Downingtown East) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 2 team it was announced on Thursday afternoon.
The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program® separately recognizes men's soccer honorees in four divisions-NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Good was outstanding in goal this season for head coach
Michael Benn's group as he played to a record of 10-3-2 on the year with five shutouts and a 0.86 goals against average. Additionally, the junior keeper who was named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week three times over the course of the season, registered an impressive .849 save percentage on the year. Good was also recognized for his efforts between the lines earlier this afternoon as he was named to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division First Team in recognition of his strong junior season.
Good is the third Golden Ram to earn CoSIDA Academic All District honors ® in the last four years, joining former teammates
Stephen Thompson and Jason Pixley who earned the recognition in 2019 and 2018, respectively.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) dominated the 11-member All-District team, as member institutions earned 9 of the 11 available spots.
First Team Academic All-District honorees®, such as Good advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America ® honorees will be announced in early December.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
