SEAHAWK SHOOTOUT RESULTS
STATEN ISLAND, NY – Jr.
Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) hit an NCAA Provisional distance in the triple jump with the best effort to date in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) to lead West Chester's men's track & field performance at the Seahawk Shootout at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island Friday afternoon.

Rivers leaped 47 feet, 10 ½ inches to win the triple jump competition and log the third-best distance in school history. That jump is among the top 15 in all of Division II on the young season.

A pair of freshmen,
Tyrese Reid (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) and
Nick Page (Laurel, Md./Our Lady of Good Council), kept the Golden Rams' fortunes high in the field events with PSAC qualifying endeavors in the long jump. Reid finished fourth overall with a leap of 22-7 ¼ while Page placed seventh with a 22-1 try.

Geraldo Medina (Willow Street, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) was runner-up in the weight throw, tossing it a PSAC qualifying distance of 51-7 ¾. Â

On the track, West Chester's 4x400m relay team of
Matt Fry (Reading, Pa./Wilson),
Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor),
Aaron Williams (Kirklyn, Pa./Upper Darby) and
Jack Wasserman (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) placed third overall with a time of 3 minutes, 24.82 seconds. The Golden Rams' foursome was the highest finish by a Division II school at the Shootout.

West Chester will break for the holidays and return to action January 15 at the TCNJ Invitational at the Armory.
