KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The United Soccer Coaches Association released its Division II men's soccer All-Amercia Teams on Wednesday afternoon and senior forward
Doug Goitia (Mount Pocono, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) was named Third Team All-America following a stellar senior season wearing the Purple and Gold.
For Goitia, this is yet another postseason honor for the senior forward, fresh off being named to the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area team on Monday afternoon and the United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region squad on Tuesday. Goitia has also earned PSAC First Team All-Conference honors already this season, marking the fourth time in his career in which he was honored as an All-Conference player while also earning DII CCA Second Team All-Region plaudits in further recognition of his efforts on the field this season. The senior forward ended his season with a career-high 20 points after tying his career-high for goals with eight on the season (four-game winners) to go along with four assists.
Goitia's impressive senior season also moved him into second place all-time in goals and points, ending his career with 29 goals and 66 points on his illustrious Golden Ram career.
Goitia is the first All-American selection for the Golden Rams since former teammate
Kyle Hoops (Phoenixville, Pa./Great Valley) was honored as a Third Team All-American by the Coaches Association during the 2018 season.
