WEST CHESTER, PA – The sun was shining bright Saturday morning for the Golden Rams as they continued an impressive start to their season with a win over Colgate University at the West Chester University Rugby pitch.
West Chester (2-0) displayed a powerful offense early on with a scoring streak that began in the fourth minute of the game and ended at the end of the first half with 48 points. Colgate (0-2) could never get anything going offensively all afternoon.
The Golden Rams' defense remained in check throughout the entire match only letting up one try in the start of the second half.
The squad enjoyed an impressive game overall with 89 points and seven of 15 conversions. Marking 20 points in the match, senior
Lauren Madalian (Randolph, NJ / Randolph) took the lead. Junior
Julianna Aliprandi (Rockaway, NJ / Morris Hills) wasn't far behind, scoring 17 points in the game.
The team stays on home turf for the upcoming week, taking on Navy next Saturday at 11 a.m.
