Men's Track and Field Concludes Busy Weekend of Competition

NEW YORK, N.Y.- The West Chester men's track and field squad was back in action this weekend at a pair of Invitationals, competing at the Fasttrack Invitational inside Ocean Breeze on Friday evening while also competing at the Rutgers Invitational inside the Armory on Friday and Saturday. This weekend was a final tune up for the Golden Rams before the PSAC Championships on February 26th and 27th.

Jude Bourdeau (Hudson, Pa./James M. Coughlin) was 28th in the 60 with a time of 7.40 seconds, which served as a personal best time for him by 0.25 seconds. Aaron Williams (Kirklyn, Pa./Upper Darby) also turned in a strong performance, leading West Chester in the 200 with a time of 22.26 seconds to finish ninth in this event. For Williams, this time served as a PSAC Qualifying time in addition to serving as the 10th fastest 200 in program history.

Amarre Mayo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) and Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) also turned in solid finishes in this event, crossing the line in 22.80 and 22.91 seconds, respectively. Mayo nearly set a new PR with this performance while Mowbray did set a new PR, topping his previous best, which he had set during the 2021 outdoor season.

In the 800, David Kramer (Washington Boro, Pa./Penn Manor) led the team with a 45th place finish in 2:01.12 while Chase Knorr (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) led the Golden Rams in the mile invite with a time of 4:26.51 to finish 26th in this event.

Michael Nieman (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) tied for fourth in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet 0 ¾ inches, which also serves as a PSAC Qualifying mark while Geraldo Medina (Willow Street, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) was sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 49-7 ¼ and 22nd in the shot put with a mark of 41-6.

Xander Squire (Upper Chichester, Pa./Chichester) led West Chester in the triple jump, finishing just inside the top-20 with a mark of 40-4 ¼. Teammate Jason Jablonski (Simpson, Pa./Carbondale) was close behind with a 21st place finish in this event with a mark of 39-2 while also leading West Chester in the long jump with a mark of 18-10 in this event.

Rutgers Indoor Invite Full Results

In other action inside the historic Armory in New York City, Tyrese Reid (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) led the Golden Rams with a ninth-place finish in the long jump, registering a mark of 21-1 ½ before finishing 12th in the 60-meter dash semis with a time of 7.12 seconds.

Nick Page (Laurel, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) and Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) also competed for West Chester in the long jump inside the Armory, registering marks of 19-11 ¾ and 18-7 ¾ to finish in 14th and 15th, respectively.

West Chester also had a contingent compete in the 200 at the Armory as Williams also competed in the 200 there, leading West Chester with a ninth-place finish in 22.25 seconds followed by Reid in 18th in 22.91 with Mowbray and Wasserman rounding things out with times of 23.10 and 23.36.

Andrew Puz (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) also registered a strong performance in the pole vault inside the Armory, finishing 11th in this event with a mark of 14-1 ¾ , which was a season-best effort for him.

West Chester will be back in action on Saturday, February 26th and Sunday the 27th at the PSAC Championships at Edinboro inside the Mike S. Zafirovski Sports and Recreation Dome.
