MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The West Chester men's track and field team returned to action for the second day of the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and currently find themselves in fifth-place in the team standings with 17.5 points while Shippensburg leads the field with 76 points so far at the Championships.
Michael Nieman (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) registered a stellar performance in the high jump, clearing a mark of 6 feet 5 ½ inches to finish in a tie for third and earn All-Conference honors.
Nick Page (Laurel, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) finished second in the long jump with a mark of 22-11 ¼, which gave him All-Conference honors as well, while teammate
Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) was fifth in this event with a mark of 22-0 ¼.
In preliminary action, the West Chester men's 4x100 relay squad was third fastest with a time of 41.95 seconds, which allowed them to qualify for the event final on Saturday afternoon while also serving as the ninth-fastest time in program history.
Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) also qualified for the Saturday event finals in the 400 meters with a time of 49.59 seconds.
West Chester returns to action tomorrow morning beginning at 11 a.m. when
Andrew Puz (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) and
Andrew Bosche (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) compete in the pole vault while the 4x100 relay squad will get the action started on the track for West Chester.
