MILLERSVILLE, Pa.- The West Chester men's track and field team returned to action on Saturday afternoon for the third and final day of the 2022 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Millersville University. West Chester finished seventh in the team standings with a three-day score of 39.5 points, while Shippensburg captured the team crown with 200 points, followed by Slippery Rock in second with 118.5 points.
On the track, the 4x100 relay squad got the action started with a fourth-place finish in 42.11 seconds before the 4x400 relay squad concluded the track events with a third-place finish in 3 minutes and 18.76 seconds. This effort by the 4x400 relay team also allowed the Golden Rams to earn All-Conference status.
Chase Knorr (Birdsboro, Pa./Twin Valley) finished 10
th in the 1500 with a time of 3:59.10, which served as a new personal-best time for the senior.
Chad Mowbray (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) was seventh in the 400 with a time of 49.89 seconds.
In the pole vault,
Andrew Puz (Exton, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) finished fourth with a mark of 14 feet 7 ¼ inches, which matched his personal-best that he had set earlier in the year at Morgan State.
Will Rivers (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) was fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 46-7 ¼, which serves as the seventh-best mark in program history.
Jose Rivera (Ashley, Pa./E.L. Myers) finished 11
th in the javelin with a mark of 175-6, which was a new personal-best by almost seven feet while also tying for the eighth-best mark in program history.
