ERIE, Pa.- The West Chester University men's golf team returned to action on Monday afternoon for the second and final round of the Howard "Bud" Elwell Fall Classic at Whispering Woods Golf Club. Gannon, who hosted the Tournament finished atop the team leaderboard with a two-day score of 588 (295, 293), while Yadhu Urs of Ohio Dominican claimed the individual title with a two-day score of four under (71, 69, 140). West Chester finished ninth overall, finishing with a team score of 643 (337, 306) behind a strong day two performance, which saw the team shoot 31 strokes lower then it did in the opening round.
Connor Strine (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) was a big part of this turnaround, signing for a two-under 70 on Monday afternoon as one of three Golden Rams below 80 in the second round.
Strine put together an impressive final round, starting his day with a birdie on the par-five seventh, before also recording birdies on the par-three 11
th, par-four 16
th, and the par-four fifth, which was his 17
th hole of the afternoon after starting on the seventh earlier in the day.
