Last Time Out

West Chester put its three winning streak to the test last week with a visit to the United States Naval Academy to take on Navy’s Division II squad. West Chester found itself behind by 14 points early, and trailed 19-5 early in the second half, despite an early first half try from Bridget Kowalski (Chester Springs, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) but the Golden Rams scored 17 unanswered behind a pair of trys from Christelle Adikpeto (Abomey Calavi, Benin/Moon Area) and another from Camryn Snow (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) to earn the comeback victory.

Hot Streak

West Chester is currently enjoying a four-game winning streak after an impressive 22-19 comeback win over Navy on Saturday afternoon that is the Golden Rams longest winning streak since the 2021 season when West Chester las played for a NIRA Tier II National Championship.

Just Getting Started

Adikpeto continued her outstanding rookie campaign on Saturday with a pair of trys, including the game-winner in the waning moments of the second half to help lift West Chester to its fourth straight victory. Adikpeto is second on the team in points with 35 with a team-best seven trys on the year, trailing only Davies, who leads the team with 46 points on two trys, 12 conversions, and four penalty kicks.

Offensive Firepower

West Chester has outscored its opponents 215-58 during its four-game winning streak, including a historic 111-0 victory over Kutztown on the road earlier this month.

Home Sweet Home

Saturday’s game is the first of two straight at home for West Chester to conclude the regular season as the Golden Rams will welcome Mount St. Mary’s on November 2 for an 11 a.m. Senior Day clash. Saturday will be just the second home game of the year for West Chester and its first since a September 21st matchup against Frostburg State, which West Chester won by a 44-3 final.

Taking Shape

Saturday’s game will be West Chester’s final matchup against another Tier II opponent in the regular season. The Golden Rams are 2-1 in such games, bouncing back from a loss at American International (AIC) in early September with a pair of impressive wins over Frostburg State (44-3) and New Haven (38-36) to finish out September. For its part, Davenport is 1-0 in Tier II action after a forfeit win over New Haven but will conclude its season with West Chester and AIC in the next two weeks.

Series History

History has not been particularly kind to West Chester when it comes to Davenport as the Golden Rams 0-3 vs the Panthers in 15s action, including a 117-3 loss in Grand Rapids in the NIRA Tier II playoffs a year ago.

Scouting Davenport

Davenport enters play with a record of 2-1-1 on the season with a loss to Army on September 14 to open the year before posting a forfeit win over New haven and an 82-11 win over Navy in Maryland to finish out September. Saturday afternoon will be the Panthers second game of October after playing to a 41-41 draw against Sacred Heart last week.
