SWIMMERS AND DIVERS OPEN HOME SLATE SATURDAY WITH TRI-MEET
• West Chester returns home on Saturday afternoon with a tri-meet as the Golden Rams welcome Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Bloomsburg to South Campus along with Division I counterpart Lehigh.
• West Chester is coming off a pair of convincing wins for both the men's and women's teams last weekend at the PSAC Sprint Frenzy and the PSAC Invitational. The Golden Rams took first among five men's teams and nine women's teams at the two meets run separately with the scoring.
• The Golden Rams' divers will also be in action up at the North Campus Pool inside Hollinger Field House at 1 p.m. The divers last competed against Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) in the first meet of the season.
• West Chester's men have topped Lehigh each of the last two years in a rivalry that dates back to 2007. The two sides have collided each year for the exception of 2012 and 2020 (Covid-19). The Golden Rams' men are 8-7 against the Mountain Hawks over that span.
• On the women's side, West Chester and Lehigh have split decisions each of the last two years. Overall, since 2007, the Mountain Hawks show a 9-7 advantage head-to-head, including winning nine of the last 11 encounters.
• Bloomsburg and West Chester go way back as rivals in the PSAC. Each winter, the PSAC Championship seems to come down to these two fighting for position at the top of the standings on the men's side. As far as dual meets go, the Huskies' men have not beaten the Golden Rams since October of 2016 while the women have not beaten West Chester since 2017. Bloomsburg's men's win in 2016 is the only head-to-head triumph in the overall series between the two schools. The Huskies' women have beaten the Golden Rams just twice in the all-time series.
