GAMBIER, OHIO –
Susana Ungo Quero (Madrid, Spain) won the 200-yard butterfly to lead West Chester's effort on the final day of competition at the Total Performance Invitational on the campus of Kenyon College. The Golden Rams finished fifth with 669.5 points.
Host Kenyon College won the Total Performance Invitational with 1,684.5 points while Hope College was runner-up with 860. Case Western Reserve was third with 707.5 points, and Carnegie Mellon was fourth with 687. SUNY-Geneseo, Lindsay Wilson College and John Carroll rounded out the team leaderboard.
Ungo Quero posted an NCAA 'B' Cut time of 2 minutes, 2.26 seconds in the 200 fly touching the wall first.
Amy Masciulli (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and
Mallory Pardoe (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) were 13th and 14th, respectively.
Maddy Koehle (State College, Pa./State College Area) placed third in the 200 breaststroke with a 'B' time of her own in 2:16.60.
Lenya Ryan (Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant) was fifth in 2:19.95 while
Molly Hubal (Archbald, Pa./Valley View) rounded out three Golden Rams in the top eight with a time of 2:23.33.
In the 1650 free,
Dani Stewart (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) was fifth and
Ditta Kowalik (State College, Pa./State College Area) was seventh. Masciulli also placed 13th.
Sam Trumble (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) and
Bella Kil (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) were 14th and 17th, respectively, in the 100 free.
West Chester's 400 free relay team placed eighth in the final event of the evening for the purple & gold. The 'B' squad placed 11th.
The Golden Rams hit the pool once more before the semester break when they welcome Delaware to Graham Natatorium on Dec. 6.
