NFHCA WATCHLIST

Four Golden Rams Named to NFHCA Preseason Watch List

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. – West Chester University landed four players on the preseason watch list for Division II that was released by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Thursday.

Among the 48 student-athletes from 18 Division II institutions who have been named to the 2024 NFHCA Watch List are graduate student Paige Wolfe (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown East), seniors Jasmine Miller (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) and Adriana Palumbo (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) and junior Ella Shockley (Delmar, Del./Delmar).

This list is intended to showcase those field hockey student-athletes with the strongest potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams. To be nominated for the 2024 NFHCA Watchlist, student-athletes must have been previously recognized for their outstanding field hockey abilities within the past two years (NFHCA All-Region, NFHCA All-America, all-conference, Senior Nexus Championship selection, NCAA All-Tournament Team, and/or U.S. National, or International, team roster) and the student-athlete's head coach must be an active NFHCA member.

This list does not constitute a nomination or selection to the NFHCA All-Region or All-America teams. Student-athletes not listed on the NFHCA Watchlist may still be nominated for NFHCA All-Region and All-America recognition.

Miller and Wolfe were each first-team NFHCA All-America selections a year ago with Miller finishing among the nation's leaders in goals scored with 18. Wolfe finished second on the team in scoring with four goals and six assists for 14 points. Both Miller and Wolfe are making their second appearance on the NFHCA Preseason Watch List as both were pointed out before last season as somebody to watch.

Palumbo and Shockley are each recognized for the first time in their careers. Palumbo solidifies the middle of the field while Shockley shuts down all traffic in front of the Golden Rams' goal from her central defender position. Both were named to the third team All-PSAC squad following last season.

The Golden Rams open up the 2024 campaign at home next Friday, September 6 under the lights at Vonnie Gros Field with a 6 p.m. start.
