GREENSBURG, Pa.- The West Chester University men's golf team was back in action on Tuesday to finish the second round and play the third round of Hannastown Collegiate at Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Ethan Martin (North Wales, Pa./La Salle) finished in a tie for fourth individually at three-over (75, 70, 68; 213) for the Tournament after carding a two-under 68 in the third round, while
Connor Strine (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) finished in a tie for 14
th at seven-over (68, 71, 78; 217) to help lead the Golden Rams to a 10
th-place team finish with a 54-hole score of 894 (287, 300, 307).
Competing as an individual, Martin had a great third round on Tuesday, going one-under on the front with a birdie of the par-five fourth before registering a pair of birdies on the par-four 10
th and par-five 12
th on the back to fire a two-under 68 on Tuesday afternoon. Strine was the top Golden Ram finisher in the lineup for head coach Chris Merce and the Golden Rams this week, finishing in a tie for 14
th with a 54-hole score of +7 (68, 71, 78; 217). Perhaps the highlight of the Tournament for Strine came in his second round when he carded an eagle on the par-five 14
th as daylight began to fade on Monday evening. Strine is one of five players in the field to record an eagle this week.
Indiana (Pa.) (IUP) took home the team title with a 54-hole score of 855 (288, 279, 288), including a second-round effort, which saw the Crimson Hawks shoot a collective one-under (279). Alex Swinnerton, another of the five players in the field to record an eagle this week, took home the individual crown at two-under (70, 69, 69; 208) after going one-under in both the second and third rounds. Swinnerton was one of just two golfers in the field to finish the Tournament under par, with Robin Duzmann of Wheeling being the lone other to do so as he finished at one-under thanks to a pair of even-par rounds in the first and third rounds and a one-under 69 in the second.
