Last Time Out
Looking for its first win of the year, West Chester opened its home slate on Saturday afternoon against Frostburg State and rolled to a 44-3 victory over the visiting Bobcats to improve to 1-2. West Chester raced out to a 15-0 lead in the first 28 minutes of the match and extended its lead down the stretch to coast to a 41-point victory. Ashlyn Wissler (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Christelle Adikpeto (Abomey-Calavi, Benin/Moon Area) scored their first career trys in the victory. West Chester also got trys from Elly Gorham (Alexandria, Va./Hayfield Secondary), Camryn Snow (Exton, Pa./West Chester East), and Jade McCool (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Lower Moreland), along with a drop goal by Gorham and three conversions and a penalty kick from Emma Davies (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett).
First Time in a Long Time
Gorham became the second player in school history to convert a drop-kick goal in the match with a late-game drop goal, joining current assistant coach Katie Walston, who last accomplished the feat in 2014.
Road Warriors
Today is the Golden Rams third road game in a month and will be their first of three straight back on the road after their home-opening win over Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon.
Series History
West Chester is a perfect 2-0 all-time vs New Haven and has outscored the Chargers 153-0 in those two meetings.
Scouting New Haven
New Haven enters play looking for its first win of the year after falling to Bowdoin by a 69-21 margin in its opener on September 14 and forfeiting against Davenport on September 21. Against Bowdoin, UNH found itself trailing 26-0 just 20 minutes into the match before Lala Guimares scored the first try of the year for the Chargers. Sydney Dela Cruz was the story for New Haven throughout the match earlier this month, going a perfect 3-for-3 on conversion attempts, maximizing the trys from Guimares, Aggie Mahan, and Sereano Vulanaono in the setback.
