Last Time Out
West Chester was in action in New York last weekend to take on Bowdoin in a neutral-site clash at Vassar College. Bowdoin raced out to a 32-5 lead just over 25 minutes into the match before West Chester began a furious but ill-fated comeback bid.
Bridget Kowalski,
Olivia Amann,
Emma Davies, and
Evie Staehle all scored trys, but it was not enough in a 37-27 loss to the Polar Bears. Davies led West Chester in scoring as she also tallied a penalty kick and a pair of conversions in the loss.
Flock Talk
Davies leads West Chester in scoring with 34 points on the year thanks to one try, 10 conversions and three penalty kicks, while
Christelle Adikpeto is the team leader in trys with four for 20 points on the season.
West Chester's record did receive a somewhat unexpected boost earlier this week as Davenport was forced to forfeit its victory over the Golden Rams from earlier this season due to an ineligible player participating in the match. With this forfeit, which the league office officially entered as a 28-0 victory for West Chester, the Golden Rams are now even at 2-2 on the year heading into the final weeks of the regular season.
Thank You Seniors
Prior to Saturday's match, West Chester will honor its senior class to say thank you for all they have helped the Golden Rams accomplish in their time wearing the Purple and Gold.
Scouting Emory & Henry
Emory & Henry opened the season with a 57-0 loss at home to Frostburg State but hve since posted a pair of wins over Guilford to improve to 2-1 on the season heading into Saturday's match with the Golden Rams.
Up Next
West Chester will head back out on the road next week and conclude the regular season with two straight away from home, as the team will visit Mount St. Mary's next Saturday for an 11 a.m. start before heading to Frostburg State for a potentially huge match on October 25 at 1 p.m.
