Roth, Men's Golf Second After Second Round at PSAC Championships

Leaderboard
Third Round Tee Times
LEBANON, Pa.- Paul-Arthur Roth (Virginia Beach, Va./Frank W. Cox)
is second on the individual leaderboard at even-par through 36 holes after shooting a one-under 71 in his second round to help lead the West Chester University men's golf team on Saturday afternoon at the PSAC Championships. With 36 of 54 holes complete, the West Chester University men's golf team is second on the team leaderboard with a two-day score of 594 (295, 299) after firing a 299 in the second round on Saturday. West Chester is just eight strokes back of Pitt-Johnstown heading into the final round on Sunday.

Roth moved up the leaderboard into second (E) on Saturday with a one-under 71 after carding five birdies on the par-five third, par-four ninth, par-four 10th, par-four 11th, and par-five 16th. Roth sat in a tie for first for much of his back nine before a double bogey on the 18th led to him slipping into a tie for second, just three strokes back of Lucas Smith from Pitt-Johnstown, who leads at three-under.

Evan Jozwiak (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) was the biggest mover of the day for West Chester as he climbed into a tie for 10th at +5. Jozwiak was two-over in his second round, thanks in part to birdies on the par-five third, par-five seventh, and par-five 13th.

Patrick Carl (Mount Airy, Md/South Carroll) and William Hilton (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) are also in the top-20 on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 16th and 19th at +6 and +7 after second rounds of 78and 76, respectively.

Yamato Kimura (Kuwana Mie, Japan/Monteverde Academy) is 33rd at +13 after firing a 78 in his second round.

As a team, West Chester remains in the top five in scoring average around the course as the team is tied for third on the par-threes at 3.38 (+15), third on par-fours at 4.28 (+28), and fourth on par-fives at 4.70 (-12).

West Chester leads the field in pars with 107 and is third in birdies with 26, led by the eight birdies that Roth has carded in his first PSAC Championships. Roth is tied for the field lead in par-four scoring average at 3.90 (-2) through the first 36 holes, matching 36-hole leader Lucas Smith atop that list.
