Men's Cross Country Set for PSAC Championships at Edinboro on Saturday

EDINBORO, Pa.- The West Chester University men's cross country team returns to the course this weekend for the 2025 edition of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Cross Country Championships on the Doug Watts Course in Edinboro.

The men's race will begin at 11 a.m., following the women's race at 10 a.m.

The PSAC has launched a Championship Central Page, which is available here. For fans unable to make the trip to Edinboro, live timing and live streaming will be available via those links. As has been tradition in previous years, the top-15 finishers will earn First Team All-Conference honors, while the next 15 will earn Second Team All-Conference honors.

"It's been a really fun season," opened Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Colin Leak. "We've seen both teams really come together well and put in a lot of good work each week, so we are very excited for this weekend."

Last year, West Chester finished ninth at the PSAC Championships, led by a 29th-place finish from Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) in 26 minutes and 40 seconds to earn Second Team All-Conference honors.
In the PSAC coaches' poll released in August, West Chester was picked to finish ninth in the PSAC Championships.

West Chester is in the midst of a strong 2025 season, which has included a pair of second-place finishes, including a near victory at the DII/DIII Challenge hosted by Kutztown on September 13. Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) made his season debut in this race and captured the 8K individual title in 25:54.90, followed by Remishofski in second in 26:12.10 and Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) in ninth in 26:47.80.

Miller also led the Golden Rams at the Paul Short Invitational as he traversed the 8K Goodman Campus Cross Country course in 24:39.9 to finish eighth and help West Chester to a 15th finish out of 38 programs in the Brown Division race. West Chester's eighth-place finish was the third-highest finish of any Division II program, trailing only East Stroudsburg and Kutztown in 11th and 13th, respectively.

"Our men's squad has looked really strong this year. Miller, Rambo (Matt Remishofski), and Vogt lead the way, but the whole group has been putting in great work. Our focus has really been on training up until recently, when we've been able to back off on mileage and focus on our intensity and racing strategy, knowing that we have a strong aerobic base. Overall, I think we are heading in healthy, feeling strong and really excited," said Leak.

Youth has been a theme for West Chester early this season as the Golden Rams have a large squad with several talented newcomers, who may contribute this weekend including Andrew Bradley (Wilmington, Del./Saleisanum), Ellis Eppard (Gaithersburg, Md./Wooton), Eli Radio (El Paso, Tx./Chapin), and Gavin Sheetz (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) who have all turned heads in their first seasons with the Golden Rams.

While Director of Cross Country and Track and Field Colin Leak welcomed in a large incoming class this year, there are plenty of familiar faces that West Chester will be looking to this weekend, including Miller, Remishofski, and Vogt along with Aaron Marcus (Easton, Pa./Easton), Matt Landis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn), Nicholas Forman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy), and Louis Edgcumbe (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) to help lead the squad.

"Our lineup is going to be deep with spots four, five, and six really feeling pretty interchangeable for us. I think the key this weekend is going to be, can we get those fourth and fifth guys close to our top finishers to close the door early in the race. Place is everything for us on Saturday. We don't need any one individual to have an amazing race; we just need five to seven well-executed races and to see our point scores go down with each passing mile. My final message to the team is really to run within ourselves early, use our aerobic fitness in the middle of the race, and then finish with our hearts, and I think we can have a great day," finished Leak.

Following the PSAC Championships this weekend, West Chester will have two weeks to prepare for the NCAA Regional Championships at Lock Haven on November 8.
