INDIANAPOLIS, IND – West Chester University's field hockey squad ended its two-year hiatus from the championships when the Golden Rams were selected for the 2025 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Tournament on Sunday evening.

West Chester University is the No. 5 seed in the eight-team, single-elimination postseason tournament and will travel to East Stroudsburg, Pa., to take on the PSAC rival Warriors (16-3) on Saturday, Nov. 15. at 12 p.m.

West Chester (13-6) is making its 10th appearance in the NCAAs since it re-classified to Division II in 2011. The Golden Rams have won the tournament three times (2011, 2012, 2019) and reached the national championship game four times, including its only loss in the title game in 2021. Overall, West Chester is 12-6 in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The Golden Rams lost in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament last week to top-ranked Kutztown in its most recent outing.

Kutztown (19-1), Shippensburg (17-3), Assumption (13-6), Bentley (13-8) and defending national champion Saint Anselm (16-5) are the other five schools to qualify for the national tournament.Â

Shippensburg, Saint Anselm and Newberry earned automatic bids to the tournament by virtue of winning their postseason conference tournaments. Shippensburg defeated Kutztown in the PSAC final while Saint Anselm defeated Bentley in the Northeast-10 Conference final. Newberry downed Lander in the South Atlantic Conference title game. Kutztown, East Stroudsburg, Assumption and Bentley were the other at-large bids to the tournament.

In the regular season, the Golden Rams were 4-5 against the teams that qualified for NCAAs.

The winner of Saturday's quarterfinal will advance to the NCAA national semifinals and finals, which will be played at Steph Pettit Stadium on the campus of Bloomsburg University Nov. 21 and 23.
