Jordin Tate (Wilmington, Del./Caravel) earned PSAC East Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after helping lead West Chester to a 58-54 victory over Jefferson on Sunday.
Tate grabbed seven rebounds, came away with four steals, and blocked a pair of shots to help the West Chester University women's basketball team storm back and defeat Jefferson 58-54 on the road on Sunday afternoon. All seven of Tate's rebounds came on the defensive glass, including the final defensive rebound of the game after a potential game-tying three from Jefferson was off target. Tate also scored six points, including a 2-for-3 effort from the field and a 2-for-4 effort at the free throw line.
West Chester will open league play with a crossover clash against Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
