WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The United Soccer Coaches Association released its Regional Coaching Staffs of the year across all Divisions of College Soccer on Thursday morning, and West Chester earned Atlantic Region Staff of the Year honors.
Each of the 52 (26 men's and 26 women's) staffs receiving Region Staff of the Year honors will be recognized at the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention, January 14-17 in Philadelphia, Pa.
The Regional Coaching Staff of the Year honorees also advance to the National Staff of the Year ballot. The winner of this award will be announced later in December, following the conclusion of the National Championships.

Betty Ann Kempf Townsley, who completed her 19
th competitive season at WCU in 2025, West Chester captured its eighth Atlantic Regional Championship and seventh under Kempf Townsley in late November with a 1-0 win over top-seed Shepherd to return to the National Quarterfinals for the second time in four years. This is the second coach of the year honor of the season for Kempf Townsley and company, as she also earned PSAC East Coach of the Year honors for the fourth time in her career after helping West Chester to a PSAC East Regular Season title once again in 2025. Kempf Townsley also mentored the PSAC East Player of the Year for the fourth consecutive year and the seventh time in her career,
Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT). Kempf Townsley also mentored her fifth Rookie of the Year and the Golden Rams' third since 2021,
Katie Dougherty (Glenmoore, Pa./Downingtown West).
West Chester saw its 2025 season come to a close in overtime in the National Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon as East Region Champion Franklin Pierce prevailed by a 3-2 margin. The Golden Rams finished the year 16-3-4 overall and 9-1-4 in league action.
