PHILADELPHIA- The Philadelphia Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) released its women's soccer Academic All-Area team on Tuesday morning, and
Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) added another honor to her growing postseason list with an Academic All-Area citation.
Barber had a season for the ages in 2025 and adds yet another honor to her growing list. Barber earned PSAC East Player of the Year honors along with First Team All-League, D2CCA All-Region, United Soccer All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District honors. The sophomore forward led the Golden Rams in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points, which is tied for 11
th most in a single season in team history, while her 13 goals are tied for ninth in single-season history. Barber, who helped West Chester extend its Conference Player of the Year streak to four years in a row, scored five game-winning goals for West Chester in 2025, including the winner in the Atlantic Region Championship game at Shepherd on November 30. The sophomore also scored a hat trick in the NCAA Tournament opener against West Virginia State, becoming the first Golden Ram to record an NCAA Tournament hat trick and the first in Division II women's soccer to do so since 2023.
Nicole Dedes of Jefferson earned Performer of the Year honors as the senior Pre-Med major finished the year with 12 goals and 10 assists for the Rams, as she helped lead them back to the East Regional Final before falling to Franklin Pierce via an own goal.
Barber is one of four Division II honorees on the Academic All-Area squad, along with Dedes, Carly Yeager, and Kyra Lesko of Jefferson.
