Matter and Barber Earn United Soccer Coaches All-America Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The United Soccer Coaches released its Division II women's soccer All-America teams on Thursday afternoon, and West Chester had a pair of players honored as Faith Matter (Middletown, Pa./Middletown) and Kianna Barber (Browns Mills, N.J./BCIT) earned Third Team All-American honors.

This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America ceremony on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Philadelphia in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.

This marks the first time since 2023 that West Chester has had multiple players earn All-America honors, as Matter and Kaitlynn Haughey were honored at the end of that season, which finished with a Regional Championship game appearance.

For Matter, this is her third career All-American certificate, as she was a Second Team honoree in 2022 as a freshman and a First Team honoree in 2023 as a sophomore before being left off the list. Matter is one of just two players in team history to be a three-time All-American, as Sarah Oswald was the lone other player to accomplish this feat with Third Team honors in 2007 and 2009 and a First Team certificate in 2010.

Barber earns her first career honor in 2025 after having a breakout sophomore season.

This is just the latest honor for both Matter and Barber, and for the Golden Rams women's soccer program, as both players were All-Region selections earlier this week, and the Golden Rams coaching staff was named the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. Matter and Barber were both First Team All-PSAC East selections and Second Team Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Region picks. Barber was also the PSAC East Player of the Year, as West Chester has now won this award each of the last four seasons. The sophomore forward was also a CSC Academic All-District and PhillySIDA Academic All-Area honoree.

Matter appeared and started in all 23 games and scored eight goals with assists on a team-best 10 others for 26 points on the year. The senior forward scored the tying goal in the National Quarterfinal against Franklin Pierce for her 37th career goal, which moved her into fourth on the career goal scoring list. She finished her career first in assists with 41, while her 115 points are fourth most in team history. The senior also scored at least a point in three of four NCAA Tournament games for West Chester in 2025.

For Barber's part, the sophomore forward led the Golden Rams in scoring with 13 goals and five assists for 31 points, which is tied for the 11th most in a single season in team history, while her 13 goals are tied for ninth in single-season history. Barber, who helped West Chester extend its Conference Player of the Year streak to four years in a row, scored five game-winning goals for West Chester in 2025, including the winner in the Atlantic Region Championship game at Shepherd on November 30. The sophomore also scored a hat trick in the NCAA Tournament opener against West Virginia State, becoming the first Golden Ram to record an NCAA Tournament hat trick and the first in Division II women's soccer to do so since 2023.

Matter and Barber are two of four PSAC players to be honored by the Association, as West Chester is the lone PSAC program with two United Soccer All-Americans in 2025. Reagan Ackerman, who helped lead Shepherd to a Regional Championship game appearance, was a First Team selection, while Ella Fadale (Gannon) was a Second Team honoree.
