LANCASTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's rugby team started its season with a pair of dominant victories on the first day of the Frostbite 7's Tournament at Hempfield High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
West Chester started the season off with a 26-5 victory over Walsh before posting a dominant 59-0 victory over Kutztown to finish off the first day of competition.
The 59-0 score breaks the single game record number of points which was (52) vs Niagara in 2019, the total number of conversions in the game was 7, which beats the previous record of (6) vs Niagara in 2019 and also beats the largest margin of victory which was also vs Niagara in 2019 (52-0)
Brooke Crago (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) led the day with 16 points, and
Bridget Kowalski added three trys to total 15 points.Â
Lilly Rhode (Hatboro, Pa./Upper Moreland) added one try and 3 conversions for 11 points while
Ashlyn Wissler (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) had two trys for 10 points.Â
West Chester purple faces Penn State at 10:40 am on Day 2 of the competition, and West Chester Gold faces the University of Virginia at 9:40 am in their first game of the weekend. Â
