West Chester remained unbeaten with a dominant 23-6 victory over Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon behind eight goals and three assists from Keri Barnett. West Chester raced out to a 5-0 lead to open the game before scoring 10 goals in the second quarter to carry a 16-4 lead into the halftime break. The Golden Rams held their guests scoreless in the third quarter, outscoring the Huskies 4-0 in the frame and 7-2 in the second half to roll to a 23-6 victory. West Chester ended the game with a 32-15 lead in shots, including a 30-9 lead in shots on goal, along with a 21-17 lead in turnovers, a 23-10 lead in draw controls, and a 21-19 lead in ground balls. West Chester was also 12-for-13 on clear attempts, including a perfect 7-for-7 in the second half, while Bloomsburg was 12-of-17.

Barnett remains the team and PSAC’s leading scorer with 67 goals and 17 assists for 84 points this season. Barnett has also accumulated 45 draw controls and 17 ground balls, while causing 25 turnovers.. Wasdick is second on the team in scoring with 39 goals and four assists for 43 points, while Kendall Fortune is third on the team in scoring with 26 goals and 12 assists for 38 points. Wasdick also leads the team in draw controls with 61, while Kendall DiCamillo leads in ground balls with 35.
Koons and Cornelius have done an admirable job filling the void left by the graduation of multiple-time All-American Jessica Gorr. Cornelius is 7-0 with an 8.48 goals-against average after earning the start in six of eight games played this season. Koons earned her first win in relief of Cornelius against ESU earlier in the season on Vonnie Gros Field and secured her first start and complete-game win against Shippensburg a few Sundays ago before logging two more complete-game wins over Kutztown and Shepherd. With this, Koons is now 4-0 on the year with an 8.93 goals-against average in 362 minutes of action.
West Chester is 42-for-84 (50.0 %) on free positions this year, while its opponents are 17-for-29 (56.7%) through nine games. The Golden Rams also hold a 258-189 lead in ground balls, a 231-156 lead in turnovers (146-79 in caused turnovers), and a 192-151 lead in draw controls.
Holding Steady
Ranked first in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II poll and second in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) poll, West Chester remains the lone unbeaten team in Division II women’s lacrosse as the season enters its final weeks.
Road Warriors
After opening the season on an eight-game homestand, West Chester has just one home game remaining on its calendar as the Golden Rams welcome Shepherd to Vonnie Gros Field on April 23 at 4 p.m. West Chester will play three straight away from home before this game, visiting Shippensburg on Wednesday, Millersville on Saturday, and Kutztown next Wednesday before ending the regular season at Bloomsburg on April 26.

Outscoring opponents 211-96, West Chester has the top offense in Division II, averaging 19.2 goals per game with a +10.5 scoring margin on the year, which is best in the PSAC and third best in Division II women’s lacrosse. Barnett is a big part of this high-powered attack as she has 67 goals this year, which is third best in the nation, averaging 6.1 per game, which is second best in DII, while her 7.6 points per game is also second best. Barnett averages 1.7 free-position goals per game, which is also the best in DII women’s lacrosse.

West Chester ranks third in Division II in clear percentage, clearing the ball at a 92.1 % rate, while holding opponents to a 71.9 % success rate, which is a big part of the Golden Rams 13.3 caused turnovers per game. 13.3 caused turnovers per game is the best in the PSAC and fourth best in Division II women’s lacrosse.

West Chester holds a 49-1 lead in the all-time series vs Shippensburg, including wins in each of the last 45 meetings, with the most recent victory being a 22-7 win in March 2025. Shippensburg (6-6, 1-6) enters play on Wednesday following losses in five of its last six, with the lone exception being a late-game comeback win at Shepherd on April 2, which saw the Raiders leave West Virginia with a 13-12 victory. On Saturday at Millersville, Shippensburg trailed by four heading into the fourth quarter but outscored its hosts 5-2, including three unanswered and another with 1:43 to play, to nearly pull an upset win over the Marauders. Olivia Glinski led Shippensburg in scoring with three goals in the loss, while Ali Pioli, Jamie Carvin, and Brynn Hauck all scored two each.
Sara Vosburg leads Shippensburg in scoring with 35 goals and 25 assists for 60 points on the season. Ali Pioli is not far behind, scoring 14 goals and assisting on 19 others for 33 points. Grace DeMarzio leads the team in ground balls, caused turnovers, and draw controls with 30, 23, and 51 on the season. Brynn Hauck is second on the team in draw controls with 45 to her name this year, along with 16 goals and six assists for 22 points.
