WEST CHESTER, Pa.- With the 2025 season quickly approaching, head coach
Michael Benn announced today the next group of student-athletes enrolling this fall who will help the program pursue a PSAC Championship.
The group consists of seven players: six first years and a transfer. Positionally, there are two defenders, three midfielders, and a pair forwards. Four of the newest Golden Rams hail from Pennsylvania. To round out the group, there is one player from New Jersey, New York, and California.
"This is another very balanced and talented group that will compete for playing time and add great depth to our program," opened Benn. Most importantly, we continue to add high-quality and high-character individuals to our locker room. I cannot wait to work with them and the whole team next month."

Lukas Bentsen 6'0" Midfielder Erie, PA/McDowell
Captain for McDowell HS and coaches Pedro Argaez & Aaron Pentz in his senior season…led team to a District 10 championship and appearance in the PIAA State Playoffs as a senior…had 25 goals and 17 assists as a senior…named to PSCA All-State team as a senior…played his club soccer for WNY Flash ECNL 06/07 and coach Regan Steele…attended a WCU Soccer 1 Day Clinic.
Jordan Cairns 5'10 Forward Shillington, PA/
Governor Mifflin
Played his senior season for Governor Mifflin and coach Chris Ferry…earned All Division honors despite playing just half the season…Prior to his senior year played for PA Classics in the MLS Next League…finished his club career with FC Revolution and coach Eric Franks…finished his club season with 13 goals and 12 assists.
Kenyon Carter 5'8" Defender Cherry Hill, NJ/
Cherry Hill East
Attended Cherry Hill East HS but did not play high school soccer…played for Real Futbol Academy in the MLS Next league during his HS years…played for coach Maxx Wurzburger…quick tenacious defender who is expected to play as a left back or left wing back at WCU.
Luke Newman 5'8" Midfielder Mission Viejo, CA/
Santa Margarita Catholic HS/Irvine Valley College
Comes to WCU as a transfer from Irvine Valley College and coach Conor Ward…was a captain in 2024…for the 2024 season, Newman scored 9 goals and had 9 assists…this was the most points in the league last season…Named the offensive player of the year and 1
st team All-League…prior to IVC he played HS at Santa Margarita Catholic and for coach Chip Fuller.
Zach Northey 5'11 Midfielder Chadds Ford, PA/
Garnet Valley
Two year team captain for Garnet Valley HS and coach Chris Custer…scored 20 goals in his HS career…earned PIAA All Central League and All Delco recognition multiple times in HS career…twice named HS's Player's Player of the Year…played club soccer for Penn Fusion Soccer Academy 07 ECNL under Jamie Scott…named to ECNL Northeast second team…led team to ECNL Northeast Conference Championship in 2022.
Ryan Rauber 5'10" Forward Homer, NY/
Tully JR-SR
Two-year team captain for Tully JSHS and coach Bill Donald… led Tully to a Section 3 championship and the state semifinals…as a senior scored 24 goals and 13 assists…for his career he had 90 goals and 31 assists…a three time All-State player…was the CNY Player of the Year…played club soccer for Syracuse Development Academy and coaches Eric Bonnier & Corey Fonseca…attended a WCU Soccer 1 Day Clinic.
Michael Regan 6' Defender Philadelphia, PA/
Father Judge
Captained Father Judge HS in his senior year for coach JD Dunlop…was named 1
st team All-Catholic League in his junior and senior seasons at Judge…also played his club soccer for FC Delco in MLS Next…played for coach Matt Poole…captained FC Delco.
The Golden Rams open the 2025 season on the road against Jefferson University on September 4th.
